
The world we live in is sustained by many important natural resources. One of the most fundamental of these is water. It is commonly used for drinking, washing, farming and irrigation, and is used in a variety of other processes and applications that improve and sustain our lives. Indeed, water is essential in our day-to-day activities and is vital to life itself.
This section presents some of the issues on 'green' living and sustainability with respect to the water sector. It examines the need for water quality and availability and considers the problems and challenges involved. It also describes some of the organizations and programs addressing the problems and some of the solutions that are currently under consideration.
The water sector is divided into 3 sub-sectors. They are: water sector general, water sector jobs and careers, and water sector green best business practices. Collectively these form the water sector as a whole. They are included in the sub sections which follow.
